The cultural Association GEA is pleased to promote the exhibition “Conversazioni” of the artist Robert Hromec, curated by Martina Campese, in the Arte Spazio Tempo exhibition space, in the heart of the Venetian Jewish Ghetto.
The idea around which the exhibition develops, is the artist’s desire to create works that are able to “converse” and get in touch with the Ghetto. The excellent historic site, that always fascinated those who within it’s boundaries discover a different reality than the one typical of the lagoon city.
The Slovak artist uses his distinctive language to recreate this relationship, and it is so that people who populate his art works, whose profiles are just sketched, murmur amongst themselves, implicated, facing each other, in a conversation with the Ghetto.
In particular, David’s Star art works show the iconic symbol of the Judaism, reinterpreted by the artist with a scratchy and evocative style and an archaic language that takes possession of it.
L’Associazione culturale GEA è lieta di promuovere la mostra “Conversazioni” dell’artista Robert Hromec, a cura di Martina Campese, all’interno dello spazio espositivo Arte Spazio Tempo, nel cuore del Ghetto Ebraico di Venezia.
L’idea attorno alla quale si sviluppa l’esposizione è la volontà dell’artista di creare delle opere che “conversino” ed entrino in relazione con il Ghetto. Un luogo storico per eccellenza, che da sempre affascina chi al suo interno scopre una diversa realtà rispetto al resto della città lagunare.
Un fascino che nasce da una particolarità storica e architettonica. L’artista slovacco riesce, con il suo linguaggio distintivo, a ricreare questa relazione, ed è così che i soggetti che popolano le sue opere, i cui profili sono appena accennati, sussurrano tra di essi, implicati, uno di fronte all’altro, in una conversazione con il Ghetto.
In particolare, le opere David’s stars, mostrano l’immagine-simbolo per antonomasia dell’ebraismo reinterpretato dall’artista con il suo stile graffiante ed evocativo di un linguaggio arcaico che s’impossessa di essa. Oltre alle opere dedicate al Ghetto ne esporrà delle altre in cui è visibile la sua piena maturità artistica.
